Dama, 3 years

Dama is a gentle girl who arrived in our care in a heartbreaking condition.

Her owner, a hunter, told us she had suffered “a little accident,” but the reality was far more serious. Dama had severe injuries to her ear and neck, most likely caused by bites, as well as a badly infected wound on her paw. Her throat was so swollen that she could barely eat or drink. She was exhausted, battered, and clearly in pain — yet in her eyes, we could still see a quiet strength and the hope that she was finally safe.

Dama was immediately washed and her wounds were carefully cleaned and disinfected. She was given antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, and the gentle care she so desperately needed. Most of all, she was given rest, kindness, and love.

Thankfully, Dama is now doing wonderfully. The infections in her ear and throat have cleared, and the wound on her paw is slowly but surely healing. Her medication has done its work, and every day she is showing us more of her brave and beautiful spirit.

What touches us most is Dama’s renewed joy for life. She is eating and drinking well, resting peacefully, and happily heading to the play yard with a wagging tail to spend time with her canine friends. It is as if she is telling us: she is still here, and she is ready for her new life.

Dama’s story is one of pain, hope, and second chances. Now she needs a loving home where she will be treated with the gentleness, safety, and respect she has always deserved.
